New Moon Projects and Plans

Image
Hello, my dears. The new moon is at zero percent in Aquarius. I have zero patience, but that's probably because my mother is being spiteful and breaking windows so that we will be forced to spend time with her. However, when she broke the window she felt lonely, and now she doesn't, so she started insulting me. I left. I still have to buy glass. I don't ever want to see my mother again, but all the problems she causes are my responsibility because I am an only child, my father died 9 years ago, and she has already driven everyone else away. At some point, her trouble causing will probably spill over into the community.  Moving on to things I can control: I keep getting the snake card in readings. I am going to make a ward with my angel. When the moon was in Capricorn, I planted pepper seeds. They reside on top of my stalking washer/dryer. I redid the shelves, allowing for more light to reach my plants. I took the curtain down that covered the door. I have a grow light in m...

Last Quarter Completed Projects

Image
Since I am planning to do life updates on the first quarter, maybe I should show completed projects on the last quarter. First up, I made a fox magnet. This is simply a wood cutout that I painted, then I glued magnets to the back. I listed it in my shop this morning. And then I got hit with a spam message, so that's annoying. If you don't want to buy anything, don't bother me.  I have cross stitch pattern software. I uploaded one of my drawings. Since the lines weren't very dark, the software did not produce a complete pattern. It also laid out my dragon in shades of gray, cream, and white. I have converted everything to black. Now I need to fill in blank spaces. This may be the best way to work on my quilt coloring book. I designed the coloring book decades ago, but I never did anything with it. Now I think I might like to make two books- one coloring book and one book on how to make the actual block, and maybe even a some needlework patterns. I have multiple interest...

Saturday

Image
On Thursday, I cleaned my desk. I had piles of paper. I hate that. I'd much rather just have whatever I am working on in front of me, with everything else put away.  On Friday, I cleaned and organized three drawers. Now, on Saturday: still clean. I did buy some fake turf, and that's on my desk. It's Easter decoration, but a lady in my fiber group put me on to using fake turf in nesting boxes. It doesn't flatten or rot. It cushions the eggs nicely. If the chickens poop on it, fake turf can be hosed off, then reused. But I refuse to buy Tractor Supply's fake turf because they are overly proud. I was really excited to find a roll for $5. I don't know how much is on the roll, or many nesting boxes I could fill. I only have two chickens, so I guess it doesn't matter. I am debating if I want to cut it up, or if I want to put my turf under the house with my other chicken coop supplies. Maybe I should go ahead and move the coop, then make improvements.  I also got ...

Dixie Died

It seems fitting for our oldest dog to die during the wolf moon.  Dixie was a German Shepard/Rottweiler mix. She was my husband's dog. His oldest son, who will be 29 next month, was in high school when he picked Dixie out of a litter of puppies.  She was a fairly calm, well-behaved dog. Dixie had stopped eating about a month ago. I switched her to soft food. All was well. Then she stopped eating that. Next, we fed her meaty table scraps. Good for a week, then she stopped eating that. Next, I tried beef broth, but she showed no interest. She would still drink water though. Unfortunately, she couldn't hold her head up very long, so she would suddenly plop down sending water splashing everywhere.  I called the vet this morning, to inquire about putting her down. I could see the dog was suffering. I didn't want that. I couldn't figure out how to ask my husband.  But now I don't have to ask anything.  Goodbye, Dixie.

The Wolf Moon

The moon is full. This is the first full moon of 2025. I made AI art yesterday and it was very well received, so I may do that for each full moon.  I am really stressed. Youngest Son is still obviously on drugs. He went into a drug induced funk yesterday, which led to a huge argument.  I was cleaning my studio. I got very excited about my new embroidery machine. I started thinking about all the cool things I could make. Then my husband pointed out that he wasn't sure where I would put it. I decided to make a sewing machine storage station. And that's why I was cleaning the studio. Things were going great. I was making real progress. Then the mother of one of Youngest Son's friends came over uninvited. And suddenly, the teenager who had been 'too sick' to get off the couch felt well enough to go to town with her. That's how the argument started. My husband cannot let anything go. I tried several times to get him to step back, breathe, think. Youngest Son was on ...

A Bit Past First Quarter

Image
Life got in the way of me blogging. Here's what I'm working on: I put my favorite spell on my kitchen hutch. And I finally found a use for that book stand my father-in-law made. We are three days past my birthday and my birthday candle is still going strong. I have put it out several times; it isn't burning nonstop. I love it. My candle makes me happy. I think I want to refill it so I can use it next year. This is my sticker machine. My husband is getting me an embroidery machine. I got really excited thinking about the things I could make. I think I want to make embroidered stickers. I have started setting more wards around the house. This is one of my favorites. I gave him a new task.  That's all for now. Blessed be, my dears. Stay safe and warm.

Art Is Everywhere

Image
Monday is a deadline. I have to turn art in on Monday. Naturally, what I am turning in isn't finished, despite the fact that I started months ago. The background is done. The art has to be framed, but it can't have real glass in the frame, and I haven't bought the Plexiglas yet.  Last week, I decided I really needed to finish my art. I did not want to be in the situation that I am currently in, where I am trying to finish this project the weekend before the deadline, and I am steadily getting distracted by everything. Like this: It's the packaging for a salad spinner. This was the thing that held the product steady in the box. I think it looks like a vagina. I think it might be perfect for the 'sex in the garden' show my fiber group is doing. I also think it is a little too obvious, and probably borders on porn. Instead of laying this aside to debate later, I spent a good 20 minutes emailing the other ladies to get their opinions.  I am going to try to reel mys...
