Star Book and Other Progress
I have managed to make a star every day. And I managed to make background stitches. I found the rows of alternating gray and black to be tedious. I switched to blue. The blue stitches are bigger. This saves time.
I am thinking of making a few more months, then I can just focus on stars. I realized I could easily do six rows of five stars. That means changing the spacing, and maybe having empty space. I also thought of making a big star and adding a round of color each day, though that probably wouldn't work out evenly with calendar days. But I think December could get busy. It usually does. I hate holidaze.
I also decided to start featuring items here on my blog. I think that would let me go into more detail. People want to buy stories and feelings rather than things. I cannot convince people to buy a mirror, but I can make them believe they need a mirror with a cool vibe that matches their bedroom decor.
My mother has run off her caregiver. Today she got a new one. This lady is 65 and seems to be hard maga-trumper, so I believe they'll get along. I tried to warn her about the mood swings, but she didn't believe me. She is convinced my mother is just lonely. She'll learn.
I put two orange trees in the greenhouse. I have to move another one, but it's huge. I can tell there's a storm in the Gulf because my neck and back hurt. I am concerned about picking this giant tree up. I might wait until this hurricane blows out. I don't know if I can get one of my sons to help me. They are fed up with their grandparents making them do extra work during their grandfather's hospital stay. All are avoiding the property and phones.
It is now Saturday. We survived the hurricane with no problems. Never lost power.
I took my mother to pay her phone bill and discovered the phone had already been turned off for non payment. I had to pay a reconnect fee. Feeling paranoid, I searched her desk and found a traffic ticket from June 2, 2025.
I found a different ticket with the bottom missing like someone tore off the end to make a payment and I got really happy until I realized payment had been made on a speeding ticket, not running the red light ticket. I haven't let her drive since February of this year and I really don't know how many tickets she got. She wouldn't renew her tag until she got pulled over, but how many times did she get stopped before she went to the tag office?
Today I prepped canvas for my star book. I made pages for November and December. I also started weaving again. That was peaceful. I'm going to try weaving at least once a week. Right now I am just trying to use up bits of yarn, but I think eventually I would like to weave patterns. I think some nice spell work could come out of weaving.
Horses are another project, but I don't have a way to print out my pattern. My husband offered to try switching the wifi around but once we started discussing the problem he got bored then walked away. The lack of Internet is also stopping me from promoting my art. I will try again this evening. Not being able to work is frustrating.
I held firm to a boundary that I set. I felt like everyone was waiting to see what would happen. When I didn't give in and world kept spinning, I felt better. Others adjusted. In the end it was fine.
I dreamed about an ex. I hope he limits himself to the dream, rather than trying to insert himself into my life. I have thought often of an old boss. I think he may want me to come back to work. That isn't possible. Let go.
I still haven't gotten an appointment with the new endocrinologist. This is frustrating. Blue Cross also went up on co-pays, so I don't know for sure that I could get an insulin pump even though I met my deductible. I feel like this is a giant trap to push me into the next year where I will be starting over with a huge deductible. I haven't been flying during this time because I didn't think it would take so fucking long. This leads to other worries like how long can I not fly before lessons/endorsements lapse?
I think I was supposed to be talking about progress, but obviously I haven't made as much progress as I thought. Blessed be, my dears. Stay safe and well.
